With an impressive girth of thirteen nautical allstars, Slackship are determined to deliver dubbed out reggae the way it was intended, complete with afro-jamaican percussion, melodica and the warmth of a full and hearty brass section as well as a treasure chest full of glittering dub samples and technological jewels.
It may surprise you to find that most of the crew of this Clyde built vessel are born and bred on this side of the pond. Their sound however is anchored firmly in the principles of Jamaican music with a uniquely Scottish twist in the lyrics and more than a dash of wry. The players have all earned their sea legs on previous voyages and as such the band has been able to hit the plank running and establish itself as a festival highlight within it’s first year.
